A Kenner man was arrested and booked with possession of child pornography after an investigation by the Kenner Police Department. Ronald Brown, 43, was taken into custody Thursday night at his apartment, 121 West Esplanade Ave., an arrest report said.
Detectives began conducting an undercover investigation into the possession, manufacture and distribution of child pornography in Kenner four months ago, according to the report. They were looking for residents who sought out or traded the illegal images online.
Investigators discovered that a computer later linked to Brown had a folder containing possible child pornography. They eventually tracked the computer to Brown's apartment and obtained a search warrant, the arrest report said.
Detectives served the warrant Thursday. A preview search of Brown's computer turned up images of children being sexually abused, the arrest report said.
Brown was booked Friday at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna. He was released the same day on a $20,000 bond. Brown could not be reached for comment.
