Dan Ryan Expressway Crash Leaves Suburban Man Dead, 4 Others Injured

A rollover crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway killed one man and left four others critically injured.

The crash happened on the expressway near 26th Street around 4:30 Sunday morning, the Tribune reports.

Dennis Moore, 32, of south suburban Steger, Ill., was identified by ABC Chicago as the man killed in the crash.

According to state police, the two cars involved both flipped in the crash. It was unclear if Moore was a driver or a passenger in one of the two vehicles.

Fire Media Affairs spokesman Kevin MacGregor said all five people had to be extricated from the cars, according to Fox Chicago, where they were taken to area hospitals.

The early-morning crash caused local lane closures on the expressway near the site, but all inbound express lanes from 51st Street have since re-opened, according to WGN.

State police are investigating, and the cause of the crash is not yet known.
