We don?t do TV in our home like the typical American family. In fact, it is banned from our home until the weekends. Since we try to be ?Do as I do? parents rather than the ?Do as I say? ones, it means that the adults don?t watch it either. And this means, that the programs that we DO enjoy get stored on the DVR until such time that they become convenient to watch. For us it is Friday night. Our girls go to the basement to watch their recorded programs, and Steve and I retire to the living room directly after the kitchen has been cleaned up from dinner. It?s kind of like a ?date night? at home. It is something we look forward to every week.
As do the dogs. Axel, in particular. Axel loves TV night just as much as we do. As soon as he hears the familiar ?POP POP POP? of the air popper, he is sitting in the kitchen, staring at me as if to say ?Popcorn, mom? Popcorn?? Next, the trip to the sofa with Axel in tow. When I arrive and snuggle back up with my favorite sofa blanket, there he is. ?Popcorn, mom? Popcorn?? As mean as it may seem, I wait just a few more seconds until I get the ultimate pathetic doggie look.
?PAHLEEEEEEEESE mom. Popcorn??
Then I give in.
He is just too cute to resist!
