Known for its encyclopedic, all-encompasing collection of super-cars?not to mentionsteadfast dedication to realistic physics, photo-realistic graphics, and faithful recreations of some of the world's most famous racetracks?"Gran Turismo" completely lacks anything even remotely resembling what audiences today would identify as a narrative, a character, or, you know, anything else that might lend itself towards a cinematic adaptation. So how are they going to make a movie out of this, again? Unlike, say, Ron Howard's upcoming "Rush," which is based upon real events, "Gran Turismo" only has its own considerable brand awareness and built-in fan-base working for it. Still, how are they going to pull this off?
What do you think, Hitlisters? What do you think a "Gran Turismo" movie would look like? Could it be a meta-comedy about an avid six year-old gamer who finds out the hard way that life's not fair, and that no matter how preternaturally talented you might be, there's always going to be some dunderheaded moron in a BMW M6 getting in your way, literally and metaphorically speaking? Will the movie end with the main character throwing his game controller across the room in disgust, hitting the reset button on is PS4, and then sadly contemplating his own mortality, coming to the sudden and disquieting realization that there is?no reset button in real life, and that he has wasted his rapidly waning youth on a wistful fantasy?
