One of the most exiting experiences on a Kenya tour is the a tour of the beaches. For ages this nation was only accessible via the Indian Ocean route. This Ocean posed challenges to explorers, traders and colonialists from Portugal, Arabia, China, India and other countries in Europe only to reward them with a spectacle of the land with abundant natural resources. Currently, this very Kenyan coast is the most popular gateway for both locals and international tourists on a Kenya tour; as a matter of fact, the Kenya tour will automatically commence on the beaches of the very ocean upon arrival.
The beaches on the Kenyan coast are ideal for a tour year round. The idyllic white sand-beaches fringed by coconut-palms being lapped by ocean warm waters safeguarded by coral reefs will leave a tourist yearning for more. Generally, the Kenya and its coastline is a tropical idyll of squashy-white sand and mild sea breeze, here the passing day is evidenced by a slow arc of the sun. The pace of life on these beaches is particularly slow, leisurely, more relaxing and peaceful.
Kenyan beaches are a continuous line of blue, a cerulean strip of ocean that falls in the protective shelter of reef. Among the most exciting experiences on a Kenya tour of the beaches is the Safari Trail. The squashy white sands on the beaches melt away under one?s feet as the sparkling blue waters of the ocean invitingly attracts one to indulge in, swimming, scuba-diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, yachting, cruising speed-boating and boating in traditional dhows. The beaches are languid, sun drenched and do expand from a 14th century town (Lamu) in the north, then to the spectacular beaches of Malindi, Watumu and the early ghost town Gedi to the major beaches of Mombasa in the south. On a Kenya tour, a Safari Trail through these places will be an ultimate experience.
This country is up for adventure and recreation as far as the Kenya tour to the beaches is concerned. A Kenya tour to the Beach package will comprise major attractions such as coral reef viewing, indulgence in water sports, scuba and deep sea diving, big-game fishing not to mention cruises and boating in traditional dhows. All these are power packed thrills combined with recreation only found on a Kenya tour to the beaches.
A Kenya tour to the beaches will again reveal the luxurious beach resorts and hotels which not only offer comfortable retreats from the sand and surf, as they also delicately commune the rich culture of this land through Swahili cooking, hospitality customs, ethnic decoration and scenic sites.
Once more, the tropical setting, negligent ambiance, soft sandy beaches, safe swimming waters and equally pleasurable beach resorts and hotels makes the Kenya tour to the beaches a trip to remember for life for any outgoing tourist. If for any case this pleasurable experience on the Kenya tour to the beaches, is simply not enough to satisfy ones tour appetite, the tropical rainforests, game reserves and national parks, the rift valley, lakes, mountain peaks, bustling marketplaces and lively cities and the Rich Kenyan culture are always there to fall back on.

You can pick your preference between PlayStation and Xbox. You can argue that Halo is better than KillZone or that Uncharted tops Gears of War.
But it is becoming increasingly hard to argue that the Xbox 360's online subscription service is superior to the PlayStation 3's. This is what competition does, and, today, the long-running $60-a-year Xbox Live Gold just doesn't seem to offer as much value as the newer, upstart, the $50 PlayStation Plus.
Let's break this down.
Xbox Live Gold costs about $5 a month for individual plan. The paid plan gives Xbox 360 gamers an extra suite of features atop basic gamer-to-gamer text-messaging, cross-game-chat and access to an online marketplace, all of which are free as part of
Xbox Live Silver .
Gold members also get the following features:
Xbox Live Gold Features
Those are the major perks and features available in the U.S. There are several more entertainment services available in other regions. (Wikipedia has a good chart for this; Microsoft offers their own less-detailed chart.) Some of the services here, including HBO Go and Netflix require their own paid memberships with those services. And some, such as YouTube and Twitter, are free on just about any device other than an Xbox 360.
Originally, Xbox Live Gold's main advertised feature was access to multiplayer gaming. With the launch of the PlayStation 3, Sony countered that by refusing to charge for online gaming. Sony's PlayStation Network was, initially, free to anyone who bought the console. There was no paid service, no PSN Gold. The PS3 couldn't do cross-game chat. That was the biggest knock. But it also didn't charge gamers.
To this day, Xbox 360 owners pay for things on their console that PlayStation owners don't. Let's strike through all of the services on Gold that PlayStation 3 owners get at no extra charge from Sony.
Xbox Live Gold minus Free PSN Features
There's one cheat there. Sony owners don't actually get Internet Explorer, but they can browse the web for free. It also does offer free-to-play games in its free PlayStation Home avatar hangout/whatever-it-is as well as with games such as Free Realms and DC Universe Online.
Several of Gold's features aren't available on PlayStation. There's no Halo Waypoint access, no ESPN, no HBO Go. But Netflix is there, Hulu Plus is there, still requiring outside subscriptions but no added payment to Sony.
This is how it's been for a while, but, last year in 2010, Sony introduced PlayStation Plus and started giving its customers the chance to pay for more services. Players got discounts in the PSN store, beta access, but nothing amazing. Then, this past June, Sony added one more key perk, the perk that makes a mockery out of Xbox Live Gold: free games.
Here's what PlayStation 3 owners get for Plus:
PlayStation Plus Features
Note the length of that list. It's short. Microsoft's Gold list is longer. But Sony's has a bullet point that it's hard for Xbox Live to top, the Instant Game Collection. That's a bundle of games that a Plus subscriber can download and that remain accessible for as long as the subscriber's account lasts. In the few months the service has been live, Sony has removed some games from the offer and added new ones. The removed games are still available to legacy subscribers; they're just not available for free to new ones. For this to be a good deal, the games better be good, right?
Here's what you'd have in your Instant Game Collection through early September, if you were a Plus subscriber since the free game offers started in June (games no longer offered to new subscribers have an asterisk):
Free Games Available Through PlayStation Plus
Pretty good list, no? Well, some people don't like it: specifically, U.S. Plus subscribers have started complaining that Europe gets an even better batch, which includes Dead Space 2 and will soon include Red Dead Redemption . The grass is indeed always greener somewhere else.
Xbox Live is much more widely-discussed than PlayStation Network. Microsoft has been noisier about their online service. They've been more aggressive, standardizing online console multiplayer gaming, striking first with Netflix streaming and just boasting more about their pay service. The company reports that it has 40 million Xbox Live subscribers, though it won't say how many are paying Gold members (one Microsoft estimate from two years ago put it at about half that count). Competition, however, causes the other party to do amazing things and that appears to be what's happening with PlayStation Plus, a service which?surprise?Sony doesn't share subscriber stats for either.
It's a safe bet that Sony has fewer Plus people than Microsoft has Golds. It's also a safe bet that Sony reacts awfully well to competition, as they've been showing throughout the summer.
Our colleagues at Gizmodo recently argued that Xbox Live Gold should be free. (Microsoft might counter that their services cost money to maintain; we might counter that that's why they're running ads on Xbox Live.) Let's pile on a new argument: Gold should be as impressive as PlayStation Plus. For consumers, it sure looks like Sony is offering the better deal.
CORRECTION: This story originally didn't list the discounts on games and DLC that Xbox Live Gold members are also offered. I've added them. That matches the discounts feature offered in PlayStation Plus.

NEW YORK (AP) ? The NFL will open the regular season with replacement officials.
Replacements will be on the field beginning next Wednesday night when the Cowboys visit the Giants to open the season, league executive Ray Anderson told the 32 teams. Negotiations are at a standstill between the NFL and the officials' union,
The NFL Referees Association was locked out in early June and talks on a new collective bargaining agreement went nowhere. Replacements have been used throughout the preseason, with mixed results.
In 2001, the NFL used replacements for the first week of the regular season before a contract was finalized.
Anderson, the NFL's executive vice president of football operations, told the clubs in a memo that the replacements will work "as much of the regular season as necessary," adding that training with each crew will continue.
A request for comment from the NFLRA was not immediately answered.
Anderson said the sides remain apart on economic issues and other matters and called the gap considerable.

A bit of early access for pre-orders blew the surprise, but TiVo has officially announced that its Stream transcoder device will hit stores on September 6th. Priced at $130 the feature set should be familiar by now: plug it into a home network that also has a TiVo Premiere series DVR connected to it, and it takes in live or recorded programming and reformats it for viewing on a mobile device. Currently those mobile devices are limited to the iOS family, but TiVo says Android access is coming. According to the company, the Stream is the first device to allow streaming and recording to as many as four devices without interrupting what's currently being viewed on the TV.
Comparing it to the others, live streaming or VOD in and out of the home on mobile devices is a feature several cable / satellite companies offer, Dish Network has tight Sling integration for streaming in multiple locations, and both DirecTV's Nomad and the Monsoon Vulkano boxes do place-shifting, the a combination of features plus a familiar TiVo UI puts the Stream in the lead, at least on paper. We're testing one now and should have a better handle on its strengths and weaknesses soon -- we'll have a comprehensive review for you soon.

Well, that didn't take long. Following the leak we saw just a couple days ago, LG has released information regarding the launch of its latest superphone, the Optimus G. The finalized pictures look just about the same as the leaks we saw, which we'd assume considering how quickly the release has come. It's always good to know for sure what you're getting though. The Optimus G is looking to be quite a speedy phone -- assuming LG can step up its software game -- with specs that are top of the line:
LG is saying the phone is set to release in Korea, LTE in tow, next month. A full global launch is expected by the end of the year, hopefully with the appropriate LTE bands for each market as well.
Be sure to follow our continuing IFA coverage as we cover all of the latest and greatest in the Android world.

United Airlines passengers faced delays and long lines after some of its major computer systems and its website failed Tuesday.
The glitch was another in a long string of technology problems that began when United merged computer systems with Continental's in March.
United acknowledged at least 200 delayed flights. Its passenger reservation system and website stopped working for about two-and-a-half hours on Tuesday afternoon, although the precise cause wasn't known.
The outage didn't affect planes in flight.
Passengers in several United hubs reported very long lines at ticket counters. During the outage it stopped sending planes to its hubs in Newark, N.J., and San Francisco.
Alex Belo was waiting at Newark to get on a flight to Mexico City. He considered himself lucky to be behind only 100 or so people waiting to check a bag ? because there were another 300 to 400 behind him.
"The line is not moving, or very slowly moving. And they're giving priority only to first class," he said.
United said it will not charge the usual change fees for passengers on affected flights who want to cancel or rebook their tickets. It apologized for the disruption.
Simon Duvall spent two hours sitting on his flight waiting for the computer problems to be resolved. People were calm but not happy, he said.
"We're on a plane, on the tarmac in Las Vegas in the middle of August. It's warm. It's uncomfortable. It's cramped," he said.
United Continental Holdings Inc. has been struggling with computer issues off and on since March, when it switched to using Continental's system for tracking passenger information. The two airlines merged in 2010.
Airlines rely on software to know who is filling the seats on its planes, and how many empty seats are available. Those computer systems make it possible to print boarding passes, too.
Rich Pearson, head of marketing at professional freelance site Elance, was stuck in Houston on his way to present at a jobs seminar at the Republican convention in Tampa, Fla.
Planes were lined up on the tarmac. "It's almost like horseback riding when they are all nose-to-butt," Pearson said. "It's like we've gone back 50 years."
"People are relatively calm," he added. "The customer service area was initially flooded. But they can't really do anything."

As well as noticed that no matter what quantity of money you make in monthly, there is never adequate?
You most likely understand how much you earned last month, but do you discover how much you spent? If you dont, you are not the only one who doesn?t. According to survey, most people spend 10% a lot more than they make!
Why is it tough to track spending?
It is difficult for people to track their spending and whether it?s wise or not simply because they cannot decifer between requirements and wants. This is one on the biggest hindrance towards getting into practice good private finance budgeting.
You may need items in life including foodstuff, water, shelter and clothing. Needs are those stuff we cannot live without. Needs are also those who living without would case difficulties and distress. Knowing between needs and wants is essential since your perception will determine whether you spend your money on this or not.
Advertising is so powerful these days that you might think of luxuriuos goods as ?needs? when in fact you dont actually need them. These deceiving commercials upon TV greatly influence the purchasing and personal financial budgeting behavior. It is your job to manufacture a wise decision whether every new product is something you really need in addition to cannot live without. Some things may help to make life easier and equal to the quality of life you are living, but it is more imperative that you know whether you can certainly truly afford them or maybe not.
After learning between desires and wants put whatever you have learned into train. Here is a simple spending system that will greatly help your personalized finance budgeting:
- Create a personal finance budget which you can use
- Save 10% of one?s income
- Always know just how much you have left to shell out
- Instantly know the impact of any spending decision
- Track all ones purchases
- Pay your bills by the due date
- Effectively manage credit card spending
Many people create a financial budget according to other people financial worksheets. As much as it?s good to have some sort of reference, do not forget to generate it personal. Customize your personal finance budget as outlined by your expenditures. You are the only one who will refer to it each day so go ahead and help it become your own. This way, it will also look more familiar to you.
Many people purchase items with charge card more often than they will with cash. Always remember that marketing and advertising to buy items with cash since you are already free from obligations later on. Some people may forget that a card does not do magic along with a real bill comes at the conclusion of the month ? exacerbating your long list of bills.
The key is to have patience at the same time of the creation and maintenance of one?s personal finance budgeting listing. It takes time to verify information on expenditures and income to ensure nothing is missed. Also the accuracy of information is amongst the most important factors to produce a personal finance budget that really works.
In your personal finance budgeting, always remember the consequences of one?s spending. If you are about to spend your savings today on a single thing, remember that this becomes money that?s no longer available should you need it in the actual nearest future.
In 2005 the You. S. was implemented with completely new bankruptcy laws that handed congress. Before that time, filing for chapter 7 bankruptcies was an easy way out of financial responsibilities.
Many people spent years being careless using credit and debts because it can be fixed with a fast filing for bankruptcy.
Now that the regulation has changed, there are more rules for filing a section 7. Before the 2005 modification, filers could choose which code they wished to file under. Income did not issue.
One of the main changes is that now those with a higher income will have to file under chapter 13 and therefore pay off some of the incurred debt. The law also charged new restrictions on chapter 7 lawyers. It may be tougher now to get a lawyer who will represent you in the bankruptcy case.
In addition to the modern income restrictions, there is also necessary counseling that debtors must complete before and after filing for chapter 7 bankruptcy.
Pre-filing, individuals must complete credit counseling and post-filing, they must complete economic budgeting. These should have also been implemented years before. They are designed to hold people aware of their own spending and keep them on track.

Munich, Germany A sub-study of the Outcome Reduction with an Initial Glargine Intervention (ORIGIN) trial, designed to investigate the effect of insulin glargine and omega-3 fatty acids on atherosclerosis progression, has found that, compared to standard care, only insulin glargine (a long-acting insulin) had a "modest" statistically non-significant reducing effect on the primary outcome of rate of change in maximum carotid intima media thickness (CIMT) at 12 carotid sites.
However, while insulin glargine did significantly reduce the secondary outcomes of the study (the annualised rates of change in maximum CIMT for the common carotid artery and for the common carotid plus bifurcation sites), there was no differences in either the primary or secondary outcomes between the omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid supplements and placebo groups.
"Our study demonstrates that in high-risk people with established cardiovascular disease or with cardiovascular risk factors plus type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes, insulin glargine modestly retards the progression of atherosclerosis," said first investigator Professor Eva Lonn, Professor of Medicine and Population Health Research Scientist at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
As background to the trial, known as the Glucose Reduction and Atherosclerosis Continuing Evaluation Study (GRACE) study, Professor Lonn explained that the effects of treatment with insulin titrated to normalise fasting plasma glucose levels and with omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid supplements (fish oil supplements) on atherosclerosis progression in people with type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes are unknown.
The GRACE study assessed the effects of insulin glargine and omega-3 fatty acids by performing yearly high-resolution carotid ultrasound examinations for five years and detailed precise measurements of CIMT. Patients were recruited from 32 centers in seven countries. At baseline patients' mean age was 63 years, over 50% had a history of prior heart attack, stroke or revascularisation, 80% had hypertension, 60% abnormal cholesterol and 10% were current smokers. About 90% had type 2 diabetes and 10% had pre-diabetes.
Most patients were receiving several therapies aimed at reducing their risk for atherosclerosis and its complications. Use of these drugs increased over the duration of the study, so that at study end 52% were on statins, 75% on ACE inhibitors or ARBs, 55% on beta-blockers and 70% on aspirin. Patients received open label insulin glargine targeting normal glucose levels or standard glycemic care, and double-blind therapy with a 1 gram per day supplement of omega-3 fatty acids or placebo. Median follow-up was five years.
Insulin glargine significantly lowered fasting plasma glucose, glycated hemoglobin and triglyceride levels and provided overall "excellent" glycemic control, said Professor Lonn, while omega-3 fatty acid supplements had no significant effect on glycemia or on lipid levels. Both interventions were safe.
Compared with the standard glycemic care, insulin glargine reduced the primary CIMT outcome, but the difference was not statistically significant (difference = 0.0030 0.0021 mm/year; p=0.145) and significantly reduced the secondary outcomes (difference = 0.0033 0.0017 mm/year; p=0.049 and 0.0045 0.0021 mm/year; p=0.032). There was no beneficial effect of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid supplements on either outcome.
"These findings support the cardiovascular safety of this intervention," said Professor Lonn, "and suggest that longer term treatment with insulin glargine might prevent cardiovascular events. In the parent ORIGIN trial insulin glargine had a neutral effect on cardiovascular events over 6.2 years. Whether longer-term therapy may result in clinical event reduction remains currently unproven."
"The neutral effect of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid supplements on atherosclerotic vascular disease is also concordant with the neutral effect on clinical cardiovascular effects in the parent ORIGIN trial. Some, but not all, previous studies reported beneficial effects of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid supplements in cardiovascular event prevention and several large ongoing trials are still evaluating this question. Our study does not address the current recommendations to consume more fish, which may have health benefits not conferred by fish oil supplements."

There are different opinions on this. Some will say nothing but water, period. But many fasting experts agree that tea, especially green tea, without sweetener is OK and some even say it is beneficial. It is a fact that people work for years in order to put food on the table, send their children to college, and pay their bills. There are those who know the value of saving money, so they prepare for the future and for when they eventually retire. In the midst of economic turmoil and uncertainty, many in their fifties or sixties are opting to retire early so that they will be able to move forward while putting money away. Preparing for retirement is very tricky but achievable if one knows how to spend money and save for the rainy days. Incidentally, not a lot of people calculate the money that they should save when they retire and there are those who do not take advantage or avail of a defined contribution plan.
Worse, there are people who spend twice as much when they are retired and this is one of the worst things you can do when preparing for retirement.
There are many ways through which you can prepare yourself. Among your options would be continuously saving your money and spending within your means. For those who do this, it can be a very rewarding habit. It is easier said than done because there are many bills to be paid, but one can start small and increase the amount if there is excess money. People who are into this habit were able to save enough for their retirement and they were able to enjoy it to the fullest. Another factor to be considered would be the retiree?s needs are in order to maintain a modest standard of living. When people stop working, their income ceases as well so preparing for retirement is all about planning ahead and taking charge of their financial future.
Retirees should know their limitations and only buy what they need instead of going for luxurious items. One fact that is overlooked by workers is contributing to a retirement savings plan that will help them in great stead when the time comes. Many of them may balk at the deductions but this is a small price to pay because these contributions will come in handy when they retire. Aside from a retirement plan, preparing for retirement is also about getting a pension plan that will benefit them in the long term.Couples will benefit from this greatly because pension plans have certain perks that will address their financial needs in a short period of time. Saving for the future is good, but investing in other endeavors is better because diversity enables a person to risk less and get more income from other sources. A good way in preparing for retirement is for a person to not spend his or her retirement savings. This is important because a retiree can retain his or her tax benefits and have no need to pay for withdrawal penalties. At the end of the day, preparing for retirement is very important and retirees should have the foresight on what to do with the finances that they save or invested.
They should also know what other benefits that they have and be able to balance these with their expenses.

BRISTOL, Tenn. (AP) ? They bumped, they banged and a helmet was tossed, too.
It was just like old times Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway, where tempers flared again much to the delight of track owner Bruton Smith.
Denny Hamlin didn't mind, either. He used an old-school "slide job" to make a late pass for the lead that led to his first career Bristol win. More important, the victory was the third of the season for Hamlin and moved him into a four-way tie for the top seed in NASCAR's championship race.
"You struggle to say what it means because I grew up watching this race and all the great finishes," Hamlin said. "This is just a milestone race that you always want to win. They've got one of the best trophies of all tracks and it's going to be one of my prized possessions and it's obviously my biggest win."
Hamlin flirted with Carl Edwards for the lead late in the race, and set up the move with 39 laps remaining Saturday night. Hamlin slid his way past Edwards on a track that was ground this summer by Smith in an effort to bring back excitement.
Edwards tried but failed to use a cross-over move to get back in front, and Hamlin drove away to the win.
"That's what you had to do. The only thing you could do was slide-job somebody," Hamlin said of the pass. "Bruton ground the track, but you still had the old Bristol here. It's one line, you still had to knock somebody out of the way to make a move."
There's two races left before the field is reset for the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship, and seeding is done by "regular-season" wins. Hamlin is tied for the series victory lead with defending champion Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson and Brad Keselowski.
The four would be tied for the top seed right now, but all want at least one more win to break the logjam.
"We're not done winning yet. We've still got a few more to go," Hamlin promised.
Johnson finished second and clinched a berth in the Chase, as did Greg Biffle and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Matt Kenseth clinched at least a wild-card berth.
Jeff Gordon was third ? giving Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet's second and third ? followed by Brian Vickers in a Toyota and Marcos Ambrose in a Ford.
Kyle Busch was a quiet sixth, Clint Bowyer was seventh and Joey Logano, winner of the Nationwide Series race Friday night, was eighth. Kasey Kahne and Paul Menard rounded out the top 10. Edwards ended up 22nd.
The race was the first since Smith ordered a grinding of the top groove around the track in an effort to narrow the racing surface. His goal was to bring back bumping and banging to Bristol after several consecutive disappointing crowds.
Although the race wasn't a sellout, Hamlin noted "this is the biggest crowd I've seen here in forever."
But it created many unknowns as few were sure how the race would develop.
Asked Friday when it would become evident what the track changes had accomplished, Stewart mockingly said "exactly on lap 236. Not a lap before, not a lap after."
He was off by about 100 laps.
Stewart rallied from a lap down early in the race to put himself in position to challenge for the lead, but he ran out of track while running with Kenseth and the two cars collided. The damage briefly knocked Stewart out of the race and sent Kenseth to pit road for repairs.
Stewart then showed his displeasure with Kenseth with a two-handed toss of his helmet directly into the front grill of Kenseth's car. Stewart put all the blame squarely on Kenseth immediately after the accident, vowing to "run over him every chance I get for the rest of the year."
As for the helmet collected by NASCAR officials on pit road? "The hell with the helmet," he said.
Kenseth was confused with Stewart's anger, claiming he gave Stewart room earlier to avoid a wreck and Stewart didn't do the same.
"I guess he just wanted to do all the taking, so that's where we ended up," Kenseth said, adding the two had incidents this season at Sonoma and Indianapolis, and Stewart refused to speak to him about the Indy accident.
"I just said 'OK, that's fine. I'm just going to race you the same way you race me,'" Kenseth said.
As for Stewart's threat to wreck Kenseth the rest of the year, Kenseth didn't seem concerned.
"Look, Tony is probably the greatest race car driver in the garage. I don't really have anything bad to say about Tony," Kenseth said, adding he was expecting the helmet throw.
It briefly appeared that there would be two helmet throws during the race as Danica Patrick prepared her reaction following a wreck with Regan Smith. Patrick, who struggled mightily in Friday's two practice sessions, had climbed to 19th on the board and was on the lead lap when her night ended.
As she approached the track on foot, drivers called for her to throw her helmet at Smith. Alas, Patrick just wagged her finger at Smith as he circled passed.
"We were just racing hard, this is Bristol, this is why people love this track because you see a lot of that, you see tempers flare," Patrick said.
She's right. It's not wrecks that fans missed at Bristol, but they for sure pined for the angry explosions that racing around the tight bullring seemed to create. Drivers had mellowed the last several years at Bristol, and Smith figured narrowing the track surface would bring back the bumping and banging that put fans in the seats.
The drivers almost unanimously opposed any changes, but their protests were ignored as Smith moved forward with the grinding project.
Keselowski, the winner of the previous two Cup races at Bristol, was critical of the track after a wreck sent his car behind the wall for repairs.
"I know the goal was to make a one-groove race track so there'd be more action, but it had an inverse affect to where now everybody is running up against the wall," Keselowski said.
But Gordon, a five-time Bristol winner, thought the track was in terrific shape.
"I say they grind the whole place. It was awesome," he said. "It reminded me of old-school Bristol."

Sheryl Connelly is corporate futurist at the Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn, Mich. After working as a customer adviser at Ford, seven years ago she turned to predicting social changes that affect the motor markets. She looks forward to the rise of megacities and self-driving cars.
Paul Marks: Why do businesses need futurists?
Sheryl Connelly: If you came up with an absolutely genius idea for a car right now, it would take three years for the rubber to hit the road, so to speak?and by then it might not seem so brilliant, so relevant. So we have to be really careful about what we place our bets on. It is daunting. To help do that I look at social, technological, economic, environmental, and political trends to try to understand the global forces that shape our values, attitudes, and beliefs as consumers.
PM: Does that mean you have to be a car nut?
SC: Not at all. I'm not a car person. I never look at the car industry. Ford has plenty of experts that can do that. My job is to look outside the automotive industry and to bring to light things outside their areas of analysis, beyond their scope. My key role is to spot trends that build a business case for the technologies our engineers invent.
PM: And how do you present this "future" to them?
SC: It is simple scenario planning, which is basically telling plausible, provocative, fictional stories about the future, but which are based on facts, on current trends.
PM: What kind of scenarios will influence what future cars are like?
SC: Earth's population has hit 7 billion and will grow by 2050 to 9 billion. That means megacities of more than 10 million people will proliferate, and that raises questions about how people will live, work, and?for Ford?move about. In Beijing today, they have five-hour commutes. During the 2008 Olympics, they had 12 days of traffic gridlock. Our Traffic Jam Assist technology will drive your car for you in a jam while you relax. Later, cars will talk to each other to route around traffic. In 10 years they'll even talk to road infrastructure and drive in follow-the-leader style, jam-free platoons.
PM: What other factors do you consider?
SC: Well, populations are aging. And that has an effect on the community and on transport. One thing we're working on is engineering cars that are easy to drive at ever-older ages. We do that using special suits that are designed to constrain our testers' dexterity to that of elderly people with restricted mobility.
PM: What about the "connected" car, how do you see that developing so it is safe?
SC: Ford's Sync system, which links smartphone music playlists, texts, and calls to the console using Bluetooth, was not designed for safety, it was designed for connectivity. But if customers are going to bring all their devices into the car anyway, this is the safest way to do it. We use Nuance's voice-recognition technology, as used by Apple's Siri assistant, to minimize distraction: In simulators we found people glance at their phone eight to nine times when making a call in the car, but that drops to three with voice-activated calls. There is also a "do not disturb" button that shuts off incoming calls and sends a text saying, "I'm driving and can't answer" to people who call or text.

Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney's proposed energy plan could be positive for the oil services and drilling industry, with its goals of streamlining and improving the permitting process, opening up new areas for drilling and boosting overall drilling activity, according to a recent research note from Barclays Capital.
Seismic companies and eventually offshore drillers could benefit from Romney's plan to open acreage offshore Virginia and the Carolinas for exploration, Barclays analyst James C. West said in the Aug. 24 research note.
Barclays views as favorable Romney's plan for approving permits for seismic surveys to "immediately update decades-old information", as well Romney's call for collaboration with Canada and Mexico on geological data and requiring onshore domestic geological and geophysical data to be shared with the Interior Department.
"We view recently enacted and forthcoming regulations as supportive for stimulating offshore activity in light of the heightened safety conscious post-Macondo world, and see little scope for these to be overtuned regardless of the election outcome," said West, referencing an Aug. 21 research note.
In the Aug. 21 note, Barclays analysts said they expected high-spec equipment makers and drillers to benefit from recent regulatory developments, such as the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) issuing its final drilling safety rule.
The final drilling largely cleans up the interim rule through minor edits, with minimal additions or material changes, noted West. The rule also removes language stating operators "must" adhere to certain American Petroleum Institute (API) suggestions, providing greater flexibility for interpretation and limiting adverse unintended operational consequences.
"We think this update will lead to operational improvements in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico and less back and forth between regulators and operators," West said.
Barclays believes industry will keep moving forward with the implementation of its own set of best practices and standards for blowout preventers, even if BSEE misses the cut-off date for issuing a proposed rule this year.
Romney's plan to empower states to oversee energy production on federal lands ? and including language for all-around increased state control ? could elevate the fracking debate in the general election and, if Romney won the presidential election, would help quell questions surrounding hydraulic fracturing being regulated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, West said.
Two energy industry groups, the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the Western Gas Alliance (WEA) on Thursday applauded the plan.
API President and CEO Jack Gerard on Thursday said proposals such as Romney's that promote the safe production of more domestic energy are critical to the nation's economic future, providing economic stimulus and job creation.
"The proposals released [Thursday] by the governor will assist in encouraging that public conservation on how more North American made energy can be an economic game changer," Gerard said in a statement.
Gerard pointed to results from a recent API poll that showed more than 70 percent of U.S. voters favor increased access to U.S. oil and gas resources, believing it will lead to more U.S. jobs and lower energy costs.
Denver-based WEA applauded the plan, saying that Gov. Romney's plan "recognizes that empowering states, rather than imposing a one-size-fits-all government approach, is the right way to increase American energy, create jobs, and grow the economy" said Kathleen Sgamma, vice president of government & public affairs for WEA.
"By empowering states and modernizing bureaucratic processes, our nation can unlock energy resources on non-park, non-wilderness federal lands while achieving a better balance between economic growth and environmental protection," said Sgamma.
T. Boone Pickens told CBSNews on Thursday that he was disappointed that Romney didn't mention natural gas, noting that the United States has more natural gas than any other country in the world.
While Romney's proposed energy plan mimics efforts in Congress, the fact that Romney has tried to set tangible goals by specific dates sets it apart from other initiatives. However, it may very well be more talk than anything else, a trend also seen in Congress, said Andrew Schrage, co-owner of the financial website Money Crashers.
Schrage notes that Romney's promises of adding 3 million jobs, significantly reducing the unemployment rate and increasing the U.S. economy by approximately $500 billion, are long-term goals at best.
Romney's claim that opening government lands for drilling would result in trillions of dollars in revenue contradicts a recent report from the Congressional Budget Office that the revenues created by more access to federal lands would be closer to $7 billion.
Romney's plan to reduce government regulation should be easy to implement.
"In a nut shell, I think the general basics behind Romney's politics can be implemented," Schrage commented. "I'm just not quite sure they'll yield the lofty goals he's currently touting."
The proposed plan can only succeed when combined with some serious energy conservation on the part of Americans, something Romney has not yet discussed.
"And of course, his chance of success in implementing his energy policy also highly depends on who controls the House of Representatives and the Senate," Schrage noted.

Many people think that cosmetic surgery is the end of the road in altering their physiques. However, plastic surgeons like Dr Harrison Lee of Beverly Hills recommend post-surgical exercise.
After clients receive their cosmetic surgeries, many feel as though they?re set for life. They feel great with their bodily alterations and don?t anticipate having to do much more. While doctors celebrate their clients happiness, they warn against become physically complacent. Dr. Harrison Lee of Beverly Hills agrees with fellow surgeons in recommending physical exercise to maintain results.
The bottom line is that cosmetic surgery is just that: cosmetic. It affects the way the body appears. It doesn?t, however, make the body act in a certain way. As such, surgeons recommend post-operative physical fitness. To retain the results of cosmetic surgery, regular exercise is a must.
Liposuction is the procedure that can remove fat from all over the body. With an expert surgeon, the results are spectacular. However, experts warn against the negative effects of liposuction when not paired with appropriate exercise. When the fat cells are removed, they can never develop once again. As such, the body may regrow fat in other areas of the body.
?
This accumulation of fatty tissue on internal parts of the body can often lead to disease. To avoid this result, the body must remain healthy. Exercise is the simplest way to protect the body.
Cosmetic surgery patients should, however, wait to exercise until it is safe to do so. Dr. Lee of Beverly Hills recommends that clients consult their personal doctor before beginning exercise. Doctors will also inform their patients about which activities will suit them best.
Cosmetic surgery is the answer to many people?s desires and needs for the body. It isn?t, however, the end of all physical care. People?cosmetic patients or not?should ensure they?re getting enough exercise to maintain proper health.
